Budgets are moral blueprints for society. They define a set of ends towards which we seek to move as a society. Our values are informed by our Christian belief that: 1) all people have the right to be treated with dignity and respect; 2) our social policies are effective in reducing poverty inthis country and that priority is given to the needs ofthe marginalized in society; 3) we are called to honour and respect God’s creation –nature and the planet around us, and to preserve it for future generations.
