KAIROS online event gathers frontline global partners and government officials on the crucial role of women peacebuilding
(Toronto, Ontario) – Global women peacebuilders will share their stories of courage and change for inclusive, equitable and just peace on Thursday, November 26, at 10:00 a.m. – noon EST during an online public event by KAIROS’ Women of Courage: Women, Peace and Security program. The event will include reflections from KAIROS members, Global Affairs Canada and the Canadian government.

Why: This public event commemorates the 20th anniversary of the UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace and Security and coincides with the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence annual international campaign November 25 – December 10.

This event is part of KAIROS’ Women of Courage: Women, Peace and Security second South-South Gathering, which runs November 24 to 27. Partners will gather virtually to share and reflect on their work with grassroots women peacebuilders, exchange experiences and strategies on how they are responding to the pandemic and strengthen collective advocacy and solidarity.
