On May 18, KAIROS is hosting a day of learning and discernment for its member institutions on fossil fuel divestment.  This gathering in Toronto will invite KAIROS members to share experiences from their denomination or religious community, learn from churches that are divesting, and discern the role of divestment as a faithful response to the climate crisis.

Highlights:

  • Theological Reflection by Jennifer Henry, KAIROS – “A Time for Ecological Conversion”
  • Keynote Talk by Christine Boyle, Fossil Free Faith – “Faithfully Journeying to a Stable Climate”
  • Learning Circle: An ecumenical sharing of our experiences with divestment

Who will attend:

  • Church staff responsible for finance, pensions or social/climate justice
  • Members of national church committees responsible for investments or social/climate justice
  • Catholic religious congregation representatives in such roles as leadership, treasurer, JPIC ministry or Investment
  • Members of the KAIROS Board and its Ecumenical Circles of Collaboration
