WHEN: March 28, 2009 to April 17, 2009: See the KAIROS events page for a list of local activities and contacts: http://www.kairoscanada.org/en/events/
WHY: In 2008, 50 million people in 370 cities and towns, in more than 35 countries worldwide switched off their lights for Earth Hour. Members of KAIROS local committees were among them. KAIROS is participating in Earth Hour 2009 as a symbolic pause to reflect on our use of fossil fuels, to think about the impact of our activity on people and ecosystems around the world, and most importantly, to pledge to make a difference – as individuals, communities, and as a nation.
KAIROS Earth Hour activities are part of Re-energize: Time for a Carbon Sabbath, a three year KAIROS campaign for personal, community and political change. Find out more at: http://www.kairoscanada.org/en/get-involved/campaign/
