Sister Anne O’Brien, presente!

Sister Anne O’Brien
Anne (right) with Fahira Golich, KAIROS Donor Relations Coordinator, in Pembroke with KAIROS partners in 2018.

The KAIROS staff is deeply saddened to learn of the death of Anne O’Brien, gsic on June 23. Anne was a beautiful person through and through, with a great energy and deep passion for justice. She was always extremely supportive of KAIROS’ work and generous with her time and skills. We remember with gratitude Anne’s laughter, big hugs, and compassionate spirit.

Anne played a special role in the transition of the ecumenical coalitions into KAIROS and was a founding member on the KAIROS board, where she served for six years. She was also a key instigator of the KAIROS Justice Fund, bringing leadership to its creation and development, and ensuring its spectacular success as source of financial stability for the organization. Anne remained closely connected to KAIROS over the years as a valued friend, advisor, and collaborator.

We consider Anne a legend at KAIROS, and we will miss her very much.
