DAY 12 of Climate Action Month: Resource from the archives - Indigenous Wisdom, Living in Harmoney with Mother Earth

Every Sunday during Climate Action Month, we will feature seminal KAIROS research and writing that continues to shape and influence our climate justice work. Today, we feature Indigenous Wisdom: Living in Harmony with Mother Earth, published in 2017. This KAIROS publication explores how the ancestral wisdom of the Indigenous peoples of the Americas can guide us as we face unprecedented challenges from climate change and related ecological crises. The resource explores Andean peoples’ teachings on how to live well in harmony with the natural world and what Canadians can learn from these teachings.

John Dillon, our late colleague, authored this booklet and was most proud of it. John was a persistent and faithful advocate for marginalized peoples everywhere. It was to the needs and concerns of women, Indigenous peoples, poor communities, and the cries of the Earth that he held himself to account. The rich legacy of work John left behind is just one of the many ways he lives on in the hearts and minds of those who had the privilege of knowing him and in KAIROS’ call for climate and ecological justice.
