Climate change and food security #KAIROSClimateAction

DAY 22 of climate action month, Climate change & food security

As we know, climate change is already having devastating impacts on ecosystems, particularly in the Global South. These impacts affect food systems as well and as a result add additional threats to human well-being.

This year, the Primate’s World Relief and Development Fund (PWRDF), a KAIROS member, has launched an education focus on Climate Change and Food Security. Through a series of learning modules, this five-part series invites you to explore the connections between climate change and food security through learning, prayer, action and giving. The series follows the seasons of agriculture, as well as the liturgical calendar. In the second module, PWRDF explores the “Season of Creation,” a time to renew our relationship with our Creator and all creation.

The learning module includes prayers, reflections and learnings from a PWRDF volunteer and PWRDF partners, questions for discussion, links for further learning and action, and an opportunity to support the ongoing work of PWRDF partners engaged in caring for God’s creation. In this second module, we hear from women land and water protectors in Colombia.

This module can be undertaken individually or as a group. You will see tips for group process throughout. Should you have any questions about the content or would like further information, please email Suzanne Rumsey (srumsey@pwrdf.org).
