Bringing a message of urgency and hope from Congo to Parliament Hill

In December 2013, MPs and Senators from all parties gathered on Parliament Hill for a KAIROS roundtable on the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).  Canadian church representatives who were part of KAIROS’ “Women of Courage” delegation to DRC in 2013 reunited to brief politicians on the urgent situation in eastern Congo and what Canada can do to help build peace and prosperity.  Co-chaired by Senator Mobina Jaffer and MP Paul Dewar, the roundtable session covered a wide range of topics including sexual violence, women’s rights, impunity, conflict minerals and Canadian mining investment.
