KAIROS’ Women of Courage: Women, Peace and Security program supports grassroots women’s organizations that are building sustainable, just and inclusive peace in Colombia, Palestine/Israel, the Democratic Republic of Congo, South Sudan and the Philippines, all of which have experienced long-term conflict. Among other things, these organizations provide counseling, legal support, human rights training and accompaniment to women victims and survivors of militarized conflict. They strive to increase the participation of women in peace processes at all levels.
Global Affairs Canada is providing financial support for Women of Courage partners in Colombia, Palestine/Israel, the Democratic Republic of Congo and South Sudan, making it possible for these KAIROS partner organizations to greatly expand their capacity and increase their impact.
KAIROS needs to raise funds to match the government’s contribution and we need your help! Every dollar you donate to these four Women of Courage: Women, Peace and Security partners will generate an additional $3 in funding from Global Affairs Canada (GAC).
In April 2019, Global Affairs Canada stopped providing funds for the National Council of Churches in the Philippines (NCCP). You can still designate your donations to NCCP, and your support is needed more than ever, but your donation will not be matched.
