CLIMATE CHANGE AND FAITH TOWN HALL – OCTOBER 1st, 12pm-3pm Mary Ward Centre

As part of Canada’s Climate Change Town Hall initiative, on October 1st we will be hosting a Climate Change and Faith Town Hall. We hope to create a space to speak specifically to the spiritual responsibility and direction that congregations, communities and individuals have been taking and can move towards on climate change. **This is an interfaith event and all are invited to share their perspectives

With guiding presentations from KAIROS: Canadian Ecumenical Justice Initiatives, Jesuit Forum for Social Faith and Justice, Faith & the Common Good, Citizens for Public Justice and others, we will be holding an unconference style space for discussion on the role of faith and the environment, the needs and abilities of faith communities in responding to climate change, and looking towards an ecologically centered and sustainable spirituality.

As our Canadian government puts forward a Climate Change Action Plan this fall, we hope to offer feedback from the perspective of our various communities, coming together in aspirational discussion that we can take with us in our work.

You are invited to be a part of this dialogue, and to bring to the conversation what you feel is important for you and your faith community. Join us Saturday, October 1st from 12-3pm to take part in this important event.
