Thousands of women mobilize in Colombia for presentation of Human Rights Report by National Office of the Ombudsman.
On March 23, the Organización Femenina Popular (OFP), a partner in KAIROS’ Women of Courage: Women, Peace and Security program, mobilized over 1000 women from the communities and women’s centres ( Casas de Mujeres) that they accompany in Magdalena Medio, Colombia to demonstrate support for an important report by the the Office of the Ombudsperson (Defensoría del Pueblo) on the Human Rights of Women and the LGBTIQ+ population, in Barrancabermeja, Santander. The next day the report was presented in a public hearing. The following is the OFP’s account of this momentous occasion:
