September 27 at 2 pm A Water Walk to celebrate the Gananoque and St. Lawrence Rivers and their value to the 1000 Islands Indigenous and Settler Community

AS part of the 4th Annual First Peoples’ Performing Arts Festival of the Thousand Islands, a 2nd annual Water Walk will take place.

Led by Knowledge Keeper, Lisa Cadue and attended by the Two Feather Drum group with Fran Chaisson, water will be collected from the Gananoque River at the Town Hall Park, and walked to the St. Lawrence River at the bottom of Charles St. S (the proposed site for the First Peoples’ Park. The event will be hosted by Clarice Gervais, Metis and Kevin John Saylor, Mohawk, both of Gananoque. Also attending are Mayor Ted Lojko and Councillor Dave Anderson. A limited number of community members are welcome to join, practicing self-distancing and wearing masks.
