Commemorating International Migrants Day by calling on federal and provincial governments to ensure regularization of all undocumented people and full and permanent immigration status for all.
On December 16, 2021, Prime Minister Trudeau promised to regularize undocumented people and give permanent resident status to migrant students and workers. One year later, neither of these promises have been kept. Migrants have won changes, but what is still needed is permanent resident status for all migrants now, and a complete overhaul of the immigration system so that no one is temporary or undocumented in the future. We do know that federal Ministers and Prime Minister Trudeau will be deciding on regularization in the weeks to come. Let’s take action now.
