(Toronto – Treaty 13 with the Mississaugas of the Credit) – The KAIROS Steering Committee is happy to announce that Leah Reesor-Keller, KAIROS’ Interim Executive Director, has accepted an offer to extend her time with KAIROS Canada for an additional year. She will support the organisation’s restructuring process that launched in the fall of 2022, while providing important stability for the staff, members, and partners of KAIROS.

Administered by the United Church of Canada, KAIROS Canada is restructuring to become a stand-alone organisation with its own charitable status. It will remain a joint ecumenical venture supported by its member denominations and religious organisations.

Reesor-Keller will serve as Transitional Executive Director until May 31, 2025. During this time, the Steering Committee will launch a search process for the long-term executive director role.

Reesor-Keller began her work at KAIROS in September 2023 as Interim Executive Director.

“I’m honoured to continue working with the KAIROS Steering Committee and staff, and the many partners who are part of the KAIROS movement,” says Reesor-Keller. “Everyday, I see the strengths of KAIROS’ long history of justice and peace coalition work, and the new opportunities to continue bringing voices of faith and conscience together to build a more just world for all.”

“Leah’s engaged, compassionate, and effective leadership has been invaluable,” says Ryan Weston, KAIROS’ Steering Committee Chair.
