Climate Action Month Day 4: Climate emergency poll
With Arctic ice melting, seas rising, storms intensifying, forests burning, and drought exacerbating hunger, there is no doubt that climate change is causing enormous devastation in all parts of the globe. In 2015, Canada and 193 other nations endorsed the goal of “holding the increase in global temperatures to well below 2°C above pre-industrial levels [while pursuing] efforts to limit the temperature increase to 1.5°C.” In 2018 though, a UN report concluded that a 2°C temperature increase would have drastic impacts on the environment.
Canada is on track to miss both the 2018 recommended targets and the promised 2015 targets.

While certain dishwashers are more efficient than handwashing, it is important to only use them when full. Handwashing dishes instead of running a half-full washer can save 15L of water and 1-2 kWh of energy.
