KAIROS stands in solidarity with partners in the Philippines and around the globe

KAIROS stands in solidarity with partners in the Philippines and around the globe who continue to defend human rights, including the right to health, in the face of this global pandemic. KAIROS partner, the National Council of Churches in the Philippines (NCCP), has released a statement urging  “the Philippine government to enhance whole-of-society coordination mechanisms by involving civil society groups and engaging the communities in responding to this emergency, rather than a whole-of-government military approach.”

We share NCCP’s belief that health is a God-given asset and a basic human right. We hope that the Philippines government and international donors, including Canada, will take increased measures to ensure that vulnerable populations around the world will have access to healthcare throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.
