WHAT: A 45-minute prayer pilgrimage along Willow Creek

WHO: Churches and People of faith who yearn for peace

WHEN: Sunday May 5th, 12:00pm – 3:00pm

WHERE: Hwy 26, Midhurst

WHY: to pray for a ceasefire in Gaza & just peace in all of Israel-Palestine

DETAILS:

Our Simcoe County “prayer pilgrimage” will be set up along a 15-minute nature walking trail that follows Willow Creek. You are invited to engage with 6 prayer and reflection stops along the path as we pray for justice and peace in Israel-Palestine. The prayer pilgrimage will take around 45 minutes depending on individual and group pacing. We invite you to come with others from your church community to walk and pray in solidarity with those suffering under violence and oppression. All peace-seeking individuals are welcome!

Please sign up your group for a pilgrimage start time here: https://forms.gle/MM1trC8S9fJNGCoUA   Or email info@christiansforjustpeace.com to receive the start time reservation form.

Alongside this prayer movement, we are also committed to political advocacy. We will be leaving a symbolic display of food, water, medical supplies, and fuel with a prayer-covered map of Gaza at our local MP’s office as a stark reminder of the dire conditions in Gaza and the desperate need for an end to the forced starvation of 2.2 million people. These items will be donated to a local organization for distribution within our community following this political action. Please bring an item or two to contribute to this action. Recommended items: non-perishable food items, bottled water, blankets, baby wipes, diapers, menstruation products, hygiene products, first aid kits and any other symbolic items such as empty medication canisters, etc. Thank you for taking action for the people of Gaza.

Once a start time has been reserved, you will receive the Midhurst location address in a follow-up email. Please dress for the weather/tick season and wear appropriate footwear. Trail difficulty: Easy-Moderate NOTE: There are no restrooms available except for emergencies as this walking trail is on property connected to a private residence.

Christians for Just Peace is a community of believers committed to pursuing a Just Peace in Palestine-Israel. Through education and activism, we hope to engage fellow Christians in our biblical call to follow Christ in the pursuit of peace, reconciliation, and justice. We recognize that every Palestinian and Israeli bears the image of God and thus deserves to live free, with dignity, and in peace and safety. The testimony of scripture and the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus emphatically call us to walk in the way of peace.
