EventsTORONTO: Mass KAIROS Blanket Exercise

Monday, May 30, 2016 EDT @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Mass Blanket Exercise

DATE & TIME ARE CONFIRMED

Mass KAIROS Blanket Exercise in Toronto, May 30, at 2pm.

Hosted by Canadian Roots Exchange in partner with KAIROS Canada.

Last year, during the release of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s (TRC) 94 Call to Actions in Ottawa, A7G along with KAIROS Canada, local Blanket Exercise facilitators and youth leaders, brought together over 400 participants to Parliament Hill for a Mass KAIROS Blanket Exercise.

This year, Mass Blanket Exercises are being led by Indigenous  and non-Indigenous youth leaders across the country, in honour of the TRC and the continued work that needs to happen in order to see reconciliation happen in Canada.

Reconciliation in Canada can start taking place when the truth of Canada’s past mistreatment of Indigenous peoples, culture, and land is heard. Come join us at Queen’s Park on May 30, 2016 from 2pm to 3:30pm to participate in a reconciliation based activity that will illustrate the past and present relationship between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples in Canada. We ask participants to please arrive early at 1:30pm so that we may start on time. There is no cost to participate in this event.

If there is a need for an ASL translator, please message us.

If you are able, please bring a blanket. To learn more about the KAIROS Blanket Exercise visit www.kairosblanketexercise.org
