EventsOTTAWA: Interactive dialogue with church leaders on meaning of complying with UNDRIP

Wednesday, March 30, 2016 EDT @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

In Call to Action 48, the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada (TRC) calls on churches and faith groups to “adopt and comply with the principles, norms and standards” of the UN Declaration as a framework for reconciliation.

On the morning of March 30, several denominations will participate in a brief press conference on Parliament Hill to publicly communicate how churches are responding.

You are invited to join us on Wednesday evening for an interactive dialogue with church leaders on what adopting and complying with the UN Declaration means in practice.

Confirmed participants include:

The Rev. Susan Johnson, National Bishop, Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada

The Right Rev. Mark MacDonald, National Indigenous Anglican Bishop, The Anglican Church of Canada

The Most Rev. Fred Hiltz, Primate of The Anglican Church of Canada

The Rev. Karen Horst, Moderator, The Presbyterian Church in Canada

Jennifer Henry, Executive Director, KAIROS

Doors open at 6:30 pm.

Light snacks and refreshments will be provided.

Please RSVP Ed Bianchi at ebianchi@kairoscanada.org if you plan to attend, have any questions, or need more information.
