Dawn’s introduction to KAIROS was as a KBE facilitator and trainer. Over the last four years she estimates she’s facilitated about 700 KBEs in a variety of settings and to a multitude of groups. Currently the Indigenous Rights Program Coordinator, Dawn’s first job at KAIROS was as KBE Coordinator for Southern Ontario.
Dawn is Mohawk from Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory in Southern Ontario. She has worked with Indigenous and non-Indigenous organizations and communities in Canada and internationally for over a quarter century on issues related to Indigenous education, activism, women’s rights, health and governance. She has a Master of Education from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto, a Bachelor of Education from Queen’s University, and Bachelor of Arts from Trent University. Dawn’s research, writing and public speaking skills and experience, along with her years of facilitating and training, are invaluable assets in this new role.
