Presented by Simcoe County KAIROS
World Water Day became a UN observance day in 1993. It seeks to focus attention on the global water crisis. On 22 March every year, people and organizations mark World Water Day by taking action to tackle the water crisis. World Water Day 2021 will focus on the theme, ‘Valuing Water’. This focus will extend beyond issues of pricing to include the environmental, social, and cultural value people place on water.
Speakers:
Ms. Vicki Monague, Beausoleil First Nation: An Indigenous Worldview on Water and Watersheds
Rev. George Moore, Simcoe County Kairos : A Faith-Based Perspective on World Water Day
Dr. Brian Ginn, Limnologist, Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority: The Health of Our Watershed
Ms. Claire Malcolmson, Lake Simcoe Protection Coalition: Protecting Our Watershed
Speakers will be followed by open discussion: How is your Watershed your Lifeboat? What water means to me.
Everyone welcome!
