The Blue Scarf group planning a Peace Walk to mark the United Nations International Day of Peace has elected to shift our plans and join in solidarity with migrant workers for the Toronto – Rights, Regularization, Status for All! rally and march. https://www.facebook.com/events/363719472630352
.
1:30pm (30 min before main rally) Meet at Christie Pits Park, north of the main migrants group, to pass out Blue Scarves, get the Blue Scarf banner set up and ready to go, and say a prayer for justice and peace.
.
2:00pm Rights, Regularization, Status for All! rally and march begins.
.
Peace includes rights, regularization and status for all!
.
This group commemorating the International Peace Day is inspired by the Blue Scarf Movement, begun by the Afghan Peace Volunteers whose motto is “Building a border-free world without war under one blue sky.”
.
Watch for another walk or vigil later in the fall (Nov 11??) with the collaboration of these same groups in solidarity with the global Blue Scarf Movement:
Pax Christi Toronto
Voice of Women for Peace
Student Christian Movement
Development and Peace – Caritas Canada
Camp Micah
KAIROS
