KAIROS REGIONAL ONLINE GATHERING 2021
This gathering is centered on Treaties 1 and 2 Territory, ancestral land of the Dakota, Anishinaabe, Ojibway, Ojibway- Cree, Cree, Dene and the homeland of the Metis Nation. We are hosting a series of online sessions to replace our in-person annual gathering. This is special invitation to those in Manitoba and NW Ontario, but all are welcome, no matter where you live.
On March 4, join us for a presentation by David Barnes on Assiniboine Food Forest and Restoring the Land, followed by some time for Q&A.
DAVID BARNES is a naturalist, environmentalist, and advocate who operates the Assiniboine Food Forest. He will share the work done on land by the Assiniboine River to preserve the ecosystem.
*Following David’s presentation a short Annual General Meeting will be held on zoom. All Kairos members and anyone interested in learning about the regional organization are welcome to remain on line to attend.
Other events in the series:
Feb 25: Indigenous Connection to the Land with Debra Tacan
March 11: Investigating Unmarked Grave Sites and Burial Grounds at Site of Brandon Residential School with Katherine Nichols and Darian Kennedy
March 18: Indigenous Youth Suicides and Future Plans for a Healing Centre with Marge Roscelli
Registration for the NWOM KAIROS 2021 Online Gathering will get you into any or all of these four sessions. A Zoom link will follow registration in a confirmation email.
