Easter is a conspiracy of hope

Watch KAIROS’ Easter video message

Dear Friends,

Every year I approach Easter in the same way, hungry for the renewal it offers. This weekend, in my church, with my community, in song and story, I will be tangibly reminded of the power of Easter hope and that will make all the difference.

The Easter mystery is what helps me make sense of the whole year: my life, our work. If death is not the last word, then neither is war, or poverty, or oppression. God’s promises are true. Hope is real and transformation is possible.

Easter draws us into a conspiracy of hope, where we refuse to accept injustice and we collaborate to bring about the profound changes needed for all to have abundant life. Easter compels us to practice resurrection.

When I spend time with a KAIROS local group, or sit in a learning circle with Indigenous peoples, or visit with a global partner, hope is made visible to me.

This Easter, I seek to renew and amplify that hope in the impossible story of the resurrected Christ. From all of us here at KAIROS, Easter Blessings, in the name of the One who makes all things possible.

Happy Easter from KAIROS!
