Palestine & Israel

KAIROS seeks to promote a peace that is just for both Palestinians and Israelis and for people of all religions, particularly Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, the three main religions rooted in the Middle East. KAIROS welcomes dialogue on its work, which is strongly informed by partners in the region and by our common focus on peace-building.

Please take some time to explore the analysis and voices you'll find in these pages. Most of our materials are found on our resources page. Two KAIROS documents spelling out our beliefs in the urgent need for a peaceful and viable two-state solution for Israelis and Palestinians:

· Our Continuing Hope for a Just Peace in the Palestinian/Israeli Conflict. KAIROS policy, 17 September 2002 (See A summary of KAIROS' position on Israel-Palestine for a shorter version of this policy.)

“Not only are they [the Canadian government] wrong in their actions towards KAIROS, a group I fully support, but in an effort to further pander to and exploit the fears of my fellow Jews around the survival of the State of Israel they have shown an utter lack of leadership, as they divide Canadians along ethnic and religious lines”
Ralph Benmergui, creator of the Vision TV mini-series 'My Israel'

A recently released document, 'Kairos Palestine, 2009: A Moment of Truth', is not a document of KAIROS: Canadian Ecumenical Justice Initiatives. Kairos is a Greek word meaning “God’s time” and is commonly used by Christian groups.
