Although the sun is trying to wear down our bodies and our feet, and our eyes are tiring from all the excitement and lack of rest, none of this can begin to compare with the daily struggles of our brothers and sisters in the Southern hemisphere. Today I listened to the testimonies of Mexicans who have endured eight years of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) and its damaging effects. In the evening our delegation was honoured with the opportunity to have dinner with six humble and triumphantly strong Colombians who are here along with 10,000 others to unite their struggles and join in the rage of hope. Even after several threats on their lives, they refuse to desert hope. The mandate of a youth organization from Norway called Changemakers says it well - "Of course we can change the world, for we ARE the people of the world".
