KAIROS Regional Structures

KAIROS regional structures support local ecumenical groups as they engage in grassroots activism on a wide range of justice issues. Regional representatives work together with Regional Coordinating Committees to facilitate access to education and action resources, foster networking among local groups, and encourage the creation of new groups. Most regions distribute their own annual or trimestral newsletter offering updates on regional justice priorities and initiatives. Once a year, regional meetings offer an opportunity for members of local groups to come together for mutual learning and encouragement, regional planning and dialogue with national staff.

The KAIROS network is made up of five geographical regions and a Quebec-based francophone partnership, the Réseau oecuménique justice et paix. The Reseau brings together a wide range of francophone faith based organizations in a network committed to social and theological analysis of current realities, mobilization and public intervention in the cause of justice, and the exchange of ideas both among its members and with other networks such as KAIROS. For more information about the Réseau, consult their website at www.justicepaix.org or email Jean-Luc Djigo at info .

KAIROS Local Groups

Through education and action, KAIROS local groups make justice issues come alive! Participants come together from a wide range of churches and community groups to take joint action for social change. Some KAIROS local groups have a specific focus for their work, such as Aboriginal Rights or anti-poverty. Others take a more general approach and respond to a variety of justice issues. KAIROS local groups reach out into their geographic communities through public events, media work and collaboration with other groups in local justice initiatives.

The KAIROS network is made up of over 100 vibrant and dynamic local groups across the country. Each local group brings to the network its unique concerns, perspectives and passion for justice. To get involved in a group near you, consult our listing of local groups, interest areas and relevant contact information.
