an overview and resources!
KAIROS is building a strong faith-based movement for justice and
peace. You can be a part of that movement by joining a KAIROS ecumenical
“community”. One hundred inclusive, issues-focused,
action-oriented and dynamic KAIROS communities exist across the
country.
Some communities have a very specific focus, such as Aboriginal
rights or anti-poverty work, while others are committed to a broad
range of justice and peace issues. All work with denominational
committees, interested congregations and individuals of faith and
conscience to build this growing and vibrant movement.
KAIROS communities also meet together as regions. KAIROS has five
regions and a francophone partnership based in Quebec: BC/Yukon,
Prairies-North, Cambrian-Agassiz,
Great Lakes/St. Lawrence, Atlantic,
and a partnership with the Réseau Oecuménique
Justice et Paix. Regions meet each fall in inspiring events
to share experiences, strategize on action, and build relationships.
At these meetings, regions elect a KAIROS regional coordinating
committee and a key representative to help communication within
the region and to keep the regional linked to the national.
Get involved!
Join a KAIROS Community. To find a list
of KAIROS communities in your region, simply
click here or contact your regional
representative.
Start a KAIROS Community. If no group exists in your area,
form one! We have a network coordinator to offer you ideas and advice,
and a network handbook to give you step-by-step support. Your regional
reps can connect your group to interested people and regional activities.
Attend a regional event. Check out our events
listings for activities going on across the country.
Link up. Tell us about yourself or your group. Maybe you already
are involved in a denominational committee, or work on your own
but want to be kept in the loop. Stay connected through Kairos
Times, a bi-weekly email publication from the national office.
Make a connection with your region’s rep to get ongoing regional
news.
Download and use online resources. Most resources can be
found in our catalogue.
Have a look at each
major program area and the current
campaign page-- there are many articles and reflections available
in each section of the site. Check the national
events page. If you want to learn or talk about KAIROS, see
our presentation script and
the KAIROS bible study (both
are PDF files).
We would love to hear from you!
