(Toronto) KAIROS: Canadian Educational Justice Initiatives, a faith-based social justice organization, is touring Nova Scotia this week along with the Council of Canadians and Oxfam Canada to promote worldwide public access to safe drinking water. Julie Graham, KAIROS’ Education and Network Coordinator,
will speak in Tatamagouche, Wolfville, Pictou, Halifax and Mahone
Bay as part of an Atlantic Canada tour organized by the Council
of Canadians to draw attention to the growing water crises in the
region. Julie Graham is working with grassroots congregations and ecumenical groups on the need to protect water, keep it public, and hold Canadian companies legally responsible when they contaminate water supplies anywhere in the world. Graham is speaking at 7PM on the following days and locations. Wolfville, NS - February 20 Susan Howatt, National Water Campaigner at the Council of Canadians Brian O’Neill, Public Engagement and Advocacy Officer for Oxfam Canada in the Maritimes are the other speakers on the tour.
