FIRST MAJOR INTERVENTION BY CITIZENS' GROUPS IN FEDERAL
ELECTION: KAIROS Among 25 National Organizations to Launch
"Our Canada Project"

(Toronto) - The Our Canada Project -- an unprecedented initiative of major environmental, women's, labour, student, arts, and social justice groups-- will be launched at a news conference in Toronto on Wednesday, March 31, 2004.

The Project, which is unique in uniting 25 diverse organizations, represents
civil society's first major intervention in the upcoming federal election. It urges Canadians to use the ballot box to affirm Canada's traditions of compassion, peace-keeping, and strong public programs.
