Take action for Aboriginal rights!

Around the world, Aboriginal and indigenous peoples face struggles for land, cultural survival, and their very lives. In this page you’ll find suggestions for actions. Some are short-term and others may run for years. You can also take action by raising awareness of Aboriginal, Métis, Inuit and Indigenous histories and cultures. See our links list, which includes sources for educational materials and connections to Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal solidarity groups.

Sisters in Spirit campaign: The Native Women’s Association of Canada (NWAC) launched the national Sisters in Spirit Campaign in March 2004 to raise public awareness of the alarmingly high rates of violence against Aboriginal women in Canada. NWAC believes we are in an urgent state of affairs with regards to the safety of Aboriginal women in Canada. KAIROS, the Anglican Church of Canada, The United Church of Canada, and the Women’s Inter-Church Council (WICC) are among the sponsors of this important campaign.
